The European Sustainable Development Week will take place in October and September 2021

This year, the ESDW will take place from 18 September to 8 October. Just like last year, the core of the Week will happen between 20 September and 26 September.

Holding the week in September has a great advantage: it coincides with the UN General Assembly, the yearly gathering of heads of governments in New York. This means that there is a lot of focus on global challenges and solutions in the media. In addition, on September 25 is the anniversary of the Global Goals and the 2030 Agenda. Together, this presents the perfect timing to draw attention to the Sustainable Development Goals everywhere in Europe. Therefore, the organising countries decided to keep the Week in September. In line with its motto ‘Think Global, Act Local’ the ESDW highlights local sustainability projects and brings awareness for sustainability issues to many people around Europe.

Registration for the ESDW 2021 will start in early May on this Website.
