The Department for Sustainable Development and the Advisory Council for Sustainable Development organized the 31st Conference of the Network of European Advisory Councils for the Environment and Sustainable Development (EEAC) in Bucharest, Romania, on October 4-5, 2023. This prestigious event occurred at the Parliament Palace, with the theme “Sustainability, Solidarity and Resilience: Common Values in the European Union.” In line with recent global events, including the HLPF and the SDG Summit, this meeting focused primarily on SDG 16, emphasizing peace, justice and the importance of strong institutions.

Throughout the conference, delegates explored two key questions: the future of sustainable politics in a changing world and strategies for building peace, justice and strong institutions. Participants studied governance structures for sustainable development, evaluating the role of advisory councils in shaping institutions appropriate to this role. They also participated in interactive sessions, reliving the challenges and discerning the trends of recent years. These sessions also included financial strategies and reflections on the SDG Summit. Cross-border partnerships, such as the Danube Cooperation, have shed light on building transnational institutions. In addition, influential voices from Brussels NGOs emphasized the role of civil society in promoting sustainable development. Benefiting from the support of the Chamber of Deputies, the event offered participants perspectives for action in the face of rapid global changes.

Departamentul pentru dezvoltare durabila impreuna cu Consiliul Consultativ pentru Dezvoltare Durabila au organizat cea de-a 31-a Conferință a Rețelei Consiliilor Consultative Europene pentru Mediu și Dezvoltare Durabilă (EEAC) la București, România, în perioada 4-5 octombrie 2023. Acest prestigios eveniment a avut loc la Palatul Parlamentului, având tema "Sustenabilitate, Solidaritate și Reziliență: Valori Comune în Uniunea Europeană." În concordanță cu evenimentele globale recente, inclusiv HLPF și Summitul SDG, această întâlnire s-a concentrat în primul rând pe SDG 16, accentuând pacea, justiția și importanța instituțiilor puternice.

Pe parcursul conferinței, delegații au explorat două întrebări cheie: viitorul politicii durabile într-o lume în schimbare și strategiile de construire a păcii, justiției și instituțiilor puternice. Participanții au studiat structurile de guvernanta pentru dezvoltarea durabila, evaluând rolul consiliilor consultative în modelarea instituțiilor adecvate acestui rol. De asemenea, aceștia au participat la sesiuni interactive, retrăind provocările și discernând tendințele anilor recenți. Aceste sesiuni au inclus și strategii financiare și reflectii asupra Summitului SDG. Parteneriatele transfrontaliere, precum Cooperarea Dunării, au adus în lumină construirea de instituții transnaționale. În plus, voci influente din ONG-urile bruxelleze au subliniat rolul societății civile în promovarea dezvoltării durabile. Beneficiind de sprijinul Camerei Deputatilor, evenimentul a oferit participanților perspective de acțiune în fața schimbărilor globale rapide.
