The ESDW 2020 is scheduled from 18 September – 8 October 2020, with the core week taking place from 20-26 September 2020. Over 1000 events from 15 countries have already been registered by now!
Due to the postponement of the ESDW 2020 from its original date in May to September, organisers have had time to adapt their events to circumstances in their country or region as a result of the Covid-19 situation. This led to an eclectic mix of online and physical events as well as some hybrid formats. Many events registered for the ESDW 2020 are taking place in the open air or chose a restricted access to ensure the best safety of all participants. The large number of events already registered shows the resilience and determination of the sustainable development community to organize activities that foster sustainability. Especially in times of crises, it is crucial to emphasise the importance and potential of sustainable development in building a better world coming out of the crisis.
