Learning about Forests (LEAF) is an international educational programme that encourages Environmental Education (EE) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) through cultivating more awareness of the importance of our forests and environmental issues among students, teachers, and the wider community. The programme is run nationally by the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce. The programme provides the perfect platform to help educate and to fulfil many of the objectives of ESD and the UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs). LEAF is in line with several of the SDGs. The key Goals linked to LEAF are Goal 15: Life on Land; Goal 13: Climate Action; Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
