The Letter: A Message for Our Earth

Screening of documentary “The Letter: A Message for our Earth”.

The event, which is being held to celebrate the Season of Creation, will also include moments of prayer and discussion.

The Interdiocesan Environment Commission and the Justice and Peace Commission, in collaboration with the Franciscan Friars, are organizing an activity to commemorate the Season of Creation 2023. With it they will be joining a number of Christian churches all over the world that between the 1st of September and the 4th of October every year seek to raise awareness about environmental issues.

This year, in Malta, the activity will be focused on the documentary “The Letter: A Message for our Earth”. In this documentary, five people from the four corners of the world – Senegal, the Amazon forest, India and Hawaii – travel to Rome to meet Pope Francis. They share with him their experiences of how they are responding with hope and determination to the environmental crisis that is having a strong impact on their communities.

To register, send an email to ambjent@maltadiocese.org. Participation is free of charge, but any donation to help cover costs will be greatly appreciated.
