Hotel Mercure Creolia invites you to a special event to make you discover Gyotaku art, in partnership with the artist Luc Legendre. Gyotaku is a Japanese art, which consists in realising the print of a fish with squid ink on paper or fabric, in a sustainable manner, in order to keep a memory of this ephemeral product before cooking it. On October 7, Luc Legendre will demonstrate his art on the terrace of Hotel Mercure Créolia. In order to keep up with tradition, he will realise prints of sea breams, first fishes that have been represented in gyotaku art in 1862. The sea breams will then be prepared and cooked during a show-cooking performed by the Chef de cuisine of Hotel Mercure Créolia. A selection of Luc Legendre’s masterpieces will also be exhibited in the lobby of the hotel during a few weeks, to make this art known to a broader public.

L'hôtel Mercure Créolia vous propose une soirée spéciale à la découverte de l'art du Gyotaku, en partenariat avec l'artiste Luc Legendre. Art japonais, le gyotaku consiste à réaliser l'empreinte d'un poisson à l'encre de seiche sur du papier ou du tissu, dans un souci de démarche durable, afin de conserver une trace de ce produit éphémère avant de le cuisiner. Le 7 octobre, Luc Legendre fera une démonstration de son art en direct sur la terrasse du Mercure Créolia. Dans le respect de la tradition, il réalisera des empreintes de dorades, premiers poissons à avoir été représentés en gyotaku en 1862. Ces dorades seront ensuite préparées et cuites au braséro en show-cooking par le Chef de cuisine du Créolia, dans le cadre d'un menu spécialement élaboré pour l'occasion. Une sélection des œuvres de Luc Legendre sera également exposée dans le lobby de l'hôtel pendant quelques semaines afin de faire découvrir cet art au plus grand nombre.
