SETU Waterford are working to reduce our reliance on once off disposable beverage cups. The campaign will run for a four-week period with a view to extend upon successful implementation. The key aim will be to reduce the communities’ dependency on once off disposable cups with a secondary aim of improving recycling processes around this disposable offering. There will be a number of facets to this campaign. It will involve a reduced rate of hot beverage purchases in a re-usable cup as opposed to a paper cup to incentivise usage, the introduction of a 2 Go Cup process where re-usable cups are returned after use and the sale and supply of a variety of re-useable cups suitable for every consumer’s requirement. Washing facilities will be available to support this campaign. As part of our secondary target, disposable cup recycling bins will be available to ensure these cups are disposed of appropriately. Waste reduction tracking and usage measurement tools will support this campaign to measure the campaigns success.
