PROJECT EMC2 – ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION ABOUT WHITE CROWBERRY PLANT – ‘CAMARINHA’- (COREMA ALBUM (L.) D. DON)- A COASTAL OUTDOOR VISIT

Project Emc2 -outdoor visit– students see at a coastal habitat the white crowberry plant – Corema album (L.) D. DON- and learn about the biology and ecology of this Iberian endemic plant.

Within Emc2 project ‘Exploring White Crowberry Coastal Habitats’, which is an ongoing environmental educational project about the endemic white crowberry plant -Corema album (L.) D. DON-, it was organized in 3rd October an outdoor visit to a coastal habitat, that engaged ca. 50 students, aged between 8-10 years old, with their teachers. They were able to learn about  the biology and ecology of the Iberian endemic white crowberry plant, at the mainland Portuguese coastal area of Torres Vedras. The initiative was co-organised by the EB1/JI Póvoa de Penafirme School, the ‘Torres Vedras Environmental Educational Centre’ and the Emc2 project, which is funded by the Grant FCT MARE – UIDB/04292/2020 to ARNET (Aquatic Research Network).



No âmbito do projeto Emc2 ‘Explorar Matos de Camarinha da Costa’, um projeto de educação ambiental em curso sobre a ‘camarinheira’ - Corema album (L.) D. DON- uma planta endémica Ibérica, foi organizada no dia 3 de outubro, uma visita ao ar livre a um habitat costeiro, que envolveu ca. 50 alunos, com idades entre 8 e 10 anos, acompanhados pelos seus professores. Os alunos puderam conhecer a biologia e a ecologia da camarinheira, na zona costeira de Torres Vedras, em Portugal continental. A iniciativa foi co-organizada pela Escola EB1/JI de Póvoa de Penafirme; o Centro de Educação Ambiental de Torres Vedras e o projeto Emc2, que é financiado pela Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT MARE - UIDB/04292/2020 ao Laboratório Associado ARNET -Rede de Investigação Aquática).
