At the beginning of the event, representatives from the department of housing and environment of the Riga City Council will inform about the habbitat and grassland management works that already have been carried out in the Daugavgrīva nature protection zone. This will be followed by two short educational tours/lectures accompanied by nature experts – each one hour long. First lecture will focus on preserving the plant diversity within the Daugavgrīva nature protection area. While the second lecture will bring to attention the importance of this territory for migratory bird and its close connection with ornithology. Those interested will be able to try birdwatching with the provided binoculars or bird telescope. However, Daugavgrīva nature protection area is only a part of the bigger Nature Park “Piejūra”. An expert from the Nature conservation agency will inform in detail about the overall natural values of “Piejūra” and their protection. Nature conservation agency will also provide a tent with educational games about environment and biological diversity for the youngest visitors. 

Pasākumu sākumā pārstāvji no Rīgas domes mājokļu un vides departamenta informēs par Daugavgrīvas dabas lieguma teritorijā jau veiktajiem biotopu un zālāju apsaimniekošanas darbiem. Tam sekos divas īsas izzinošās ekskursijas/lekcijas dabas ekspertu pavadībā - katra stundu gara. Pirmā lekcija fokusēsies uz Daugavgrīvas dabas lieguma augu daudzveidības saglabāšanu. Savukārt otrā lekcija pievērsīs uzmanību teritorijas nozīmei migrējošajiem putniem un tās ciešajai saistībai ar ornitoloģiju. Interesentiem tiks nodrošināta iespēja pašiem vērot putnus ar binokļiem vai putnu teleskopu. Tomēr Daugavgrīvas dabas liegums ir vien daļa no dabas parka “Piejūra”. Par “Piejūras” kopējām dabas vērtībām un to aizsardzību sīkāk informēs eksperts no Dabas aizsardzības pārvaldes.
