The funding programme for sustainable development supports projects and processes which contribute to sustainable development. It helps to address the challenges and goals of the Sustainable Development Strategy 2016-2019 by the Federal Council and the Agenda 2030 for sustainable development. Main topic 2016 is sustainable food (goal 12 of the sustainable development goals: ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns).

Das Förderprogramm Nachhaltige Entwicklung bietet Starthilfe und Unterstützung für Projekte und Prozesse, welche zu einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung  beitragen. Es trägt gezielt dazu bei, die Grundsätze und Ziele der Strategie Nachhaltige Entwicklung 2016-2019 des Bundesrats sowie die Agenda 2030 für nachhaltige Entwicklung auf kantonaler, lokaler und regionaler Ebene umzusetzen. Das Schwerpunktthema 2016 ist die nachhaltige Ernährung (Ziel 12 der Sustainable Development Goals: Nachhaltige Konsum- und Produktionsmuster sicherstellen). Projekte können bis Ende September 2016 eingereicht werden.
