In 2023, African Way is organizing the 2nd edition of the event “Eco Camp African Way”, dedicated to the theme “Regenerative Food Systems” to be held between the 21st and 24th of September, at Burriscas Campismo Rural, in Montemor- o-Novo, Portugal.

With the mission of launching the African Peace Village establishing an annual work camp/volunteer program in partnership with climate farmers in Portugal, alternative community initiatives and permaculture projects in Europe, the event aims to bring regenerative farmers, young people and women from various backgrounds to work side by side with their African counterparts, sharing sustainable development perspectives, promoting cultural understanding and the sacredness of the natural world and how healthy food is production is an opportunity for developing inner capacities.

It is intended that during the event period, participants will gain a rich understanding of deep ecology and build their capacities in Conscious food approaches global environmental issues while at the same time having the opportunity to enjoy a diverse community and co-creative environment.

The activities that make up the event program are designed using the principles of African-style permaculture and adaptive governance that facilitate cultural exchange, environmental stewardship and peacebuilding. These are activities that allow participants to increase their knowledge of environmental, social and sustainable and regenerative development issues, in order to generate new ideas related to intercultural education and social innovation. 

Em 2023, a African Way está a organizar a 2ª edição do evento “Eco Camp African Way”, dedicada ao tema “Sistemas Alimentares Regenerativos” a realizar-se entre os dias 21 a 24 de Setembro, no Burriscas Campismo Rural, em Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal.

Com a missão de lançar a African Peace Village, estabelecendo um programa anual de campo de trabalho / voluntariado em parceria com os agricultores climáticos em Portugal, iniciativas comunitárias alternativas e projetos de permacultura na Europa, o evento tem o objetivo de trazer agricultores regenerativos, jovens e mulheres de várias origens para trabalham lado a lado com suas contrapartes africanas, compartilhando perspectivas de desenvolvimento sustentável, promovendo a compreensão cultural e a sacralidade do mundo natural e como a produção de alimentos saudáveis é uma oportunidade para desenvolver capacidades internas.

Pretende-se que, durante o período do evento, os participantes adquiram uma rica compreensão da ecologia profunda e desenvolvam suas capacidades em uma alimentação consciente, abordando questões ambientais globais e, ao mesmo tempo, tendo a oportunidade de desfrutar de uma comunidade diversificada e de um ambiente co-criativo.

As atividades que compõem o programa do evento são projetadas usando os princípios da permacultura à maneira africana e governança adaptativa que facilitam o intercâmbio cultural, a gestão ambiental e a construção da paz. Trata-se de atividades que permitam aos participantes aumentar os seus conhecimentos sobre questões ambientais, sociais e de desenvolvimento sustentável e regenerativo, de forma a gerar novas ideias relacionadas à educação intercultural e à inovação social.
