Zero hunger

The students of Secondary School Bartol Kašić have reused leftovers to create new dishes

As part of European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW) the students of Secondary School Bartol Kašić under the mentorship of professors Ivan Šoš, Ivan Krajačić and Anita Vodvarka have turned bread into breadcrumbs and dumplings and pancakes into cannelloni and noodles. Also, they have reused bolognese sauce to prepare stuffed bolognese cannelloni.

The aim of these activities is to encourage students to a more creative use of food items so as to reduce the amount of food waste. By implementing this approach in their future practice and by motivating others to do the same students could make a positive impact on reducing the Global Hunger Index (GHI).

U sklopu Europskog tjedna održivog razvoja (ETOR) učenici naše škole su uz mentorstvo nastavnika Ivana Šoša, Ivana Krajačića i Anite Vodvarka tehnološki prenamjenili kruh u krušne mrvice i okruglice, palačinke u kanelone i rezance, a bolonjski umak u sastavni dio punjenja kanelona.
