The 27th Sedlar meeting of town and spatial planners: Spatial Development Visions: Green Rail Infrastructure

Discussion on Slovenian railways` development vision and projects: railway infrastructure priority the second track on the railway Ljubljana to The Port of Koper and Ljubljana Rail Road Terminal.

We are going to examine the development of the European infrastructure corridors Baltic – Adriatic and Mediterranean on their Slovenian segments and the railway infrastructure priority of Slovenia: the second track on the railway Divaca – Koper (to The Port of Koper) on the Mediterranean corridor.We will discuss the Slovenian railways` development vision and projects, such as the second track Ljubljana – Jesenice (with rail connection to Ljubljana Airport), Ljubljana Railway Junction and Rail Road Terminal for Ljubljana etc.On the same note we are going to discuss the Slovenian Motorway project which is, according to public opinion, the greatest achievement of Slovenian spatial planning in the last century. In the explanation of the Maks Fabiani Award Jury which awarded the project a special award in 2015 it was stated: The project marks an historical breakthrough in the connectedness and accessibility of our national space and its linkage to the European transport network. It also implies a new breakthrough similar to the construction of the railway more than a century ago, during the reign of the Habsburg monarchy. The aim of the meeting is to encourage both the professional and lay publics to engage in critical discussion, but also the government on the local and state level to take necessary decisions and adopt appropriate measures. The response of speakers also showed that it the topic is on time and true, while at the TSPAS we are pleased that with your help we will be able to complement the discussion on Slovene rail infrastructure and possibly accelerate solutions!



Pogledali bomo skozi prizmo razvoja evropskih infrastrukturnih koridorjev Baltsko – Jadranskega in Mediteranskega na poteku skozi Slovenijo. Obravnavali bomo infrastrukturno prioriteto drugi tir Divača – Koper, vizijo razvoja železnic v Sloveniji ter konkretne projekte, kot so drugi tir Ljubljana – Jesenice (z odcepom do letališča Brnik), Ljubljansko železniško vozlišče in Logistični center, vizije razvoja mestnega in primestnega tirnega prometa in drugo.Primerjalno bomo spomnili na izvedbo slovenskega avtocestnega križa, ki je po anketah javnega mnenja največji dosežek urejanja prostora Slovenije v zadnjem stoletju. V obrazložitvi žirije Nagrade Maks Fabiani, ki je projektu v letu 2015 podelila posebno jubilejno odličje je zapisano: Pomeni zgodovinsko prelomnico v povezanosti in dostopnosti našega nacionalnega prostora in njegovi vključitvi v evropsko prometno omrežje. Pomeni novo prelomnico od izgradnje železnic pred stoletjem in več, to je še v časih Avstro-ogrske monarhije.Namen srečanja je spodbuditi strokovno in laično javnost h kritično konstruktivni razpravi, obenem pa vladajoče strukture na državni in lokalni ravni k pravim in pravočasnim odločitvam in ukrepom. Tudi prijave k nastopom so pokazale, da gre za nadvse aktualno temo, v DUPPS pa smo veseli, da bomo skupaj z vami dodali svoj prispevek k obravnavi slovenske železniške infrastrukture in morda k spodbuditvi rešitev!
