Primary school Ivana Brlić Mažuranić Ogulin in Croatia will organize students’ activity called Sustainable choice –apple. In two weeks, students will explore the origin of the apples in their local stores and markets. In the first week, students will record and photograph three varieties of apples of their choice, their country of origin (using an accompanying declaration), and the price. During the second week, as a classroom activity, students will find the length of the journey from the origin country to Ogulin and calculate the cost of transport of each variety of apples. The obtained data will then be shown on the chart. Visualized data will help students to make conclusions about the best choice of products, in this case, apples, for their consumption. Students will discuss the difference in the cost of transport and the price of the apples in the store.

Osnovna škola Ivane Brlić Mažuranić Ogulin organizirat će učeničku aktivnost pod nazivom Održivi izbor – jabuka. Učenici će u dva tjedna istraživati podrijetlo jabuka u svojim lokalnim trgovinama i tržnicama. U prvom tjednu učenici će snimiti i fotografirati tri sorte jabuka po vlastitom izboru i zabilježiti zemlju porijekla (koristeći popratnu deklaraciju) te cijenu jabuka. Tijekom drugog tjedna, kao aktivnost u učionici, učenici će pronaći duljinu puta od države porijekla do Ogulina i izračunati trošak prijevoza svake sorte jabuka. Dobiveni podaci zatim će biti prikazani na grafikonu. Vizualizirani podaci pomoći će učenicima da donesu zaključke o najboljem izboru proizvoda, u ovom slučaju jabuka, za svoju konzumaciju. Učenici će raspravljati i o razlici u cijeni prijevoza te cijeni jabuka u trgovini.
