48 hours to change the world — join Junction and Aalto Ventures Program in hacking for a more sustainable future!

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the UN offer a blueprint for achieving a more sustainable future, by addressing the most severe challenges our world is facing. The problems are so complex that you’d have to be crazy to imagine they could be solved in just 48 hours. Well, a bit crazy is what we’re looking for!

Solve the SDGs is an online hackathon, where groups work together with world-class mentors to solve sustainability-related problems. If there’s a more impactful way to spend a weekend, we haven’t heard of it.

The hackathon is open for participants from all backgrounds; no prior hacking experience is necessary. We’re not looking for technical submissions only — anyone can play a part in solving these problems. As long as you’re a team player who thinks the world could be a better place, you’re more than welcome to join! Each team will pitch their final ideas with two-minute videos on Sunday.

Kestävän kehityksen tavoitteet (Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs) ovat YK:n määrittelemiä tavoitteita kestävämmän tulevaisuuden rakentamiseen, ja ne keskittyvät kaikkein vaikeimpien globaalien ongelmien ratkaisemiseen. Nämä ovat niin monimutkaisia ongelmia, että niiden ratkaiseminen 48 tunnissa saattaa tuntua mahdottomalta. Mutta kuka tekee mahdottomasta mahdollista, ellemme me?

Solve the SDGs on verkon yli tapahtuva hackathon, jossa tiimit työskentelevät yhdessä huippuluokan mentorien kanssa kestävyyteen liittyvien ongelmien parissa. Jos on olemassa merkityksellisempi tapa käyttää viikonloppu, mekin haluaisimme tietää siitä.

Hackathon on avoin osallistujille riippumatta opintotaustasta tai kokemustasosta; aiempi kokemus hackathoneista ei ole tarpeen. Ratkaisut voivat olla muunkinlaisia kuin teknisiä, joten kuka tahansa voi osallistua ongelmanratkaisuun. Kunhan olet tiimipelaaja joka uskoo maailman voivan olla nykyistä reilumpi paikka, olet tervetullut mukaan! Tiimit esittävät lopulliset ideansa kahden minuutin videoilla sunnuntaina 20.9.
