The Dutch Women’s Council of Belgium organises a study day to enhance the discussion about a shorter working week. This because we noticed our government does not give us a structural answer to the problems we face concerning the difficult work-life balance, like burn-out or gender inequality in paycheck and pensions. A lot of scientists and organisations of the civil society and company directors notice that a shorter working week could be an important piece of the puzzle to solve the problems we face today. That is why we want to expand the foundations who are working around this topic. With this event we want to explore a bit how we can do this. We try to think about how to realise a beter work-life balance via workshops, slam poetry and a debate. Within the workshops we show short movieclips of international examples about alternatives. Afterwards Flemish experts are sharing their expertise on the topic in question with us and the audience can engage with them.
