To lead Europe and the world onto a sustainable path, institutional changes and significant shifts in EU and Member States’ economic, social and environmental policies are urgently needed. The aim of the opening Conference of the third Italian Sustainable Development Festival, which will be held just few days before the elections for the European Parliament, is to identify some of the key actions that European institutions need to undertake to strengthen their capacity to guide our continent and the world towards a more equitable and sustainable future. The Conference, organized by the Secretariat of the Alliance, will be in English with simultaneous translation, and will see the participation of high-level representatives from the European institutions, from the financial world and civil society.

Per condurre l’Europa e il mondo su un sentiero di sviluppo sostenibile, sono necessarie e urgenti riforme istituzionali e cambiamenti nelle politiche economiche, sociali e ambientali dell’UE e dei suoi Stati membri. L’obiettivo della Conferenza di apertura del terzo Festival dello Sviluppo Sostenibile, che si svolgerà pochi giorni prima delle elezioni per il Parlamento Europeo, sarà di identificare alcune delle azioni chiave che le istituzioni europee dovranno intraprendere per rafforzare la propria capacità di guidare il nostro continente e il mondo verso un futuro più equo e sostenibile. La Conferenza, organizzata direttamente dal Segretariato dell’Alleanza, si terrà in lingua inglese con servizio di traduzione simultanea e vedrà la partecipazione di rappresentanti di alto livello delle istituzioni europee, del mondo della finanza e della società civile.
