Kepak Water & Energy Stewardship Programme

Our Water and Energy Stewardship Programme supports an understanding of how to lower water consumption and reduce energy operating costs while also protecting the environment.

Incorporating learning on water and energy conservation and mapping, the programme culminates in an awareness campaign for management and staff. Using proven methodology it gives sites tools to understand the flow and value of energy in their sites. With 6 sites taking part, Athleague is kicking off the programme this week with energy champions and taking the lamb line as an initial hotspot to identify where efficiencies can be made. Following expert training and understanding the sites will generate green initiatives leading to behavioral change as well as repair/ replacement of inefficient equipment. The journey involves engagement with state bodies such as Irish Manufacturing Research, Enterprise Ireland and Dundalk IT – Technology Gateway on energy and renewables. The programme will also highlight projects to reduce the reliance of grid energy through wind and solar energy and recover heat where available, furthering Kepak’s ambitions to reduce emissions by 51% by 2030
