Food Rescue takes its message about food waste to the local level where food destined for the bin is made into a lovely meal by and for the local community.
This event will inspire individuals to think before they throw away good food. During the festival, there will be a cooking demonstration on how to cook with leftovers and less than perfect food. Additionally, there will be composting and food waste reduction discussions as well as a meal made with ingredients that were destined to be thrown away because they were too close to their use by dates, were bruised or over-ripe, or never made it to the shops because they were ugly.
