Food Loss and Waste Reduction week

The campaign engages communities to raise awareness of food waste and bring it to the food circular cabinets. Tree municipalities and schools are involved.

The community initiative “Green Municipality” has developed and implemented food recycling cabinets powered by solar panels which serve the communities in 6 places: in 3 towns, 2 villages and 1 borough. The campaign includes  daily tips for reducing food waste, personal inspiring stories, a speech at food loss conference, organised by ministry and activities in schools where teachers connect the topic of food waste with their subject. The patron of the campaign is Peeter Pihel, who is the head chef of a Fotografiska restaurant, which practises zero waste concept.
The campaign is held in 6 different social media group of the food cabinets.
The outcome of the campaign is to motivate people to notice food waste, use or store the food or share with the community using the food cabinets. From schools we expect more attention to the food waste and students drawings and essays how to reduce food waste.

Kogukondlik algatus Roheline vald on väljatööltanud ja paigaldanud päikesepaneelidel töötavad toiduringluskapid, mis teenindavad hetkel kogukondi kuues erinevas asukohas. Kampaanianädal sisaldab endas igapäevaseid nippide jagamisi, kuidas toiduraiskamist vähendada, inspireerivaid persoonilugusid, esinemist toidukao vähendamise konverentsil ning tegevusi koolides, kus õppejõud seovad toiduraiskamise teemad oma õppeainetega. Kampaania patroon on "zero waste" ideed praktiseeriva Fotografiska restorani peakokk. Kampaania teostatakse kuues erinevas toiduringluskappide sotsiaalmeedia grupis.
