Felting workshop

Felting workshop as part of the Creative Society project for seniors in the city of Zagreb

For many years, wool has been perceived in Croatia as a by-product of sheep farming, treated as waste. Considering that the disposal of wool as waste or its further placement as raw material is not systematically organized, it is common for wool to be disposed of in wild landfills, along roads and paths, at the bottom of rivers, lakes and seas. We want to point out to the public the ecological problem of dumping wool into the environment and present wool as a valuable material for further use in circular economy. The felting technique is only one of the possibilities of using wool as a raw material. By holding a felting workshop, we want to make the community aware that sheep’s wool can be an excellent material for creative workshops in exchange for plastic and styrofoam and contribute to circular management and environmental protection.
