Conference on the history of climate negotiations and the IPCC with Meriem Hamdi-Cherif, researcher in environmental economics

This presentation will review the main stages of the climate negotiations from 1992 to the present day, and will provide some historical background on the birth of the IPCC. It will provide some key points, concepts and definitions that will enable us to read and understand the IPCC reports, which are at the heart of the analysis and implementation of climate policies.
Meriem Hamdi-Cherif is a researcher in environmental economics at the OFCE Sciences Po (Observatoire Français des Conjonctures Economiques). Her work focuses on energy-economy-environment interactions, climate policy evaluation and energy security at both global and regional levels. She is an expert in the elaboration of prospective scenarios in order to evaluate the transition towards low-carbon economies.
Meriem Hamdi-Cherif est chercheure en économie de l’environnement à l’OFCE Sciences Po (Observatoire Français des Conjonctures Economiques). Ses travaux portent sur les interactions énergie-économie-environnement, l’évaluation des politiques climatiques ou la sécurité énergétique aussi bien au niveau global que régional. Elle est experte en l’élaboration de scenarios prospectifs afin d’évaluer la transition vers des économies à faible contenu carbone.
