Awareness-raising campaign on migrants’ experiences of gender-based violence

A campaign to increase awareness of basic human rights and available support services. It also aims to kickstart a discussion with professionals working in the GBV & DV field.

Through this awareness-raising campaign, which will be held between 29 September and 29 October, the Commission aims to reach out to the general public and migrant communities to increase awareness of basic human rights and available support services. It also aims to kickstart a discussion with professionals working in the GBV & DV field on their professional experiences in supporting migrant victims.

The campaign will involve the following activities:

– Online & printed posters, translated in 6 different languages, which address domestic violence, sexual violence, female genital mutilation and forced marriage.

– Information sessions with migrant communities on gender equality, respect and equality in relationships, basic human rights, and available support services.

– Focus groups with field professionals on their experiences in supporting migrants to inform future training, policy development and awareness-raising initiatives.
