Ornithological aperitif. The end of the day – but not for the birds. Listen to the birds and observe such rarities as the eurasien hoopoe.
Enjoy the evening atmosphere in the park over a glass of select wine.
With its magnificent head decoration, orange-brown feathers and the wide black and white bands on its wings and tail, the hoopoe looks like an exotic bird. It makes high demands on its habitat: in particular, there has to be an abundant supply of large insects and suitable nesting must be at hand. In Switzerland it only finds a few areas for accommodation. In spring the three-syllable “hoop-hoop-hoop” courting call may be heard, from which the scientific name is derived.
